narrow-cut mineral oil primarily intended for use in

reciprocating refrigeration compressors. It has a low pour

point and excellent fluidity at very low temperatures by

virtue of being almost wax-free. Consequently, use of

Gargoyle Arctic 300 ensures that evaporator tubes are kept

clean to improve heat transfer and to reduce downtime for

maintenance.

Gargoyle Arctic 300 is compatible with all refrigerants

except sulphur dioxide. It is not recommended for use

with HFC refrigerants. The moisture content of Gargoyle

Arctic 300 oil is very low when the oil is packaged. Every

precaution should be taken to keep the oil dry to avoid

the formation of ice in expansion valves and to limit the

risks of oil degradation, copper plating, etc.

When sulphur dioxide is the refrigerant, a specially refined

white oil is required. Strict limitations on volatility have

been imposed to minimize stripping of light ends leading to

oil viscosity increase. The use of additives of any nature

is not permitted since they might react with the particular

refrigerant in use.
